Last Saturday, Raishma showcased her work at the APWA Gala event, to celebrate International Women's Day that fell on the 8th of March. The event hosted inspiring speakers and entertained guests with a couture fashion show, allowing designers to showcase their creations for a great cause! Formed in 1949, APWA (All Pakistani Women's Association), is a charity aimed to 'give the British Pakistani women a platform and a voice in the United Kingdom and to inspire women to develop their potential'. Raishma showcased her couture pieces on the runway and prepared a wonderful speech portraying the importance of female empowerment within the fashion industry. She spoke about her own journey and the difficulties she faced being a woman in business, in fashion and a working mother, but also how overcame the struggles and what she needed to do in order to reach where she is today. The runway itself was a success as the Raishma collection looked glamorous and beautiful.
