2018 Bridal Trends
Are you preparing for an upcoming wedding this year? Stay on top and in touch with this year's trends for bridal couture and ready to wear. Here are few top trends for upcoming bridal season!
TRAINS
With many variants of train shapes and sizes, fit your wedding dress perfectly to your style. Train styles include the Sweep, Court, Chapel, Cathedral and of course, the royal train, which impresses through its length. Princess Diana's famous royal wedding train reached a shocking 7.3 metres.
Did you know, Raishma's show stopping finale bridal gown showcased on the Paris runway had a train of three metres, beating the length of Royalty, Kate Middleton's dress; whose train came to 2.7 metres.
Trains will always be the star of the show!
SILHOUETTES
After the recent couture week in Paris, we can see trends in shapes on the runway within the collections of Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, etc. A shape that was presented a lot was the over skirt and the mermaid silhouette. While the over skirt allows for more material such as lace onto the hips, the mermaid style adds more material at the calves, as if resembling a mermaid's tail. Both present elegance and beauty while showing off added materials of lace, net, feathers etc. These dress styles allow for more room to play with materials and shapes.
COLOUR
While white will always be the traditional wedding dress colour, recently, other colours such as grey, blush, nudes and ivory have come into play. This not only makes the outfit more playful and unique, but also allows any white details such as embroidery’s and beadings to have more emphasis.
Raishma has a few colours within her bridal range, come in store to view these in person, or visit our website!
