A Magical Winter Wedding: Raishma's Guide
As the days get colder and we edge closer to the fire with our mug of cocoa in hand, we can’t help but dream about this year’s upcoming winter weddings. While a fairytale wedding can happen in every season, there’s something magical about a beautifully done winter wedding ceremony. We’ve selected some of our pieces that would perfectly suit a winter wedding, whether you’re the bride, bridesmaid, or guest. And we know how important it is to plan for every step of the wedding experience, especially in colder months, so we included some tips for creating the perfect winter wonderland wedding.
While most of your ceremony will most likely be indoors, a winter wedding is a perfect opportunity to add accessories to your wedding dress that will create enchanting and cozy photos. Hand-beaded, full-length sleeves add elegance to your dress without adding any heat for when you’re out on the dance floor. A fur shawl is a beautiful touch that gives you a bit of warmth when you’re taking breathtaking photos out in the snow, and can easily be set aside if you get warm.

Similarly to the wedding dress, a bridesmaid’s dress needs to work both in the cold outdoors and in the cozy indoors. Longer length dresses and hand-beaded, full-length sleeves give the bridesmaids enough warmth to withstand a quick outdoor photoshoot with the bridal party. Fur shawls that compliment the bride’s shawl can also be added to warm the bridesmaid and make for lovely photos.

Appropriately decorating your venue is vital to creating a warm and pleasant experience for your guests. On a cold day, outdoor heaters enable you to use any outdoor space your venue may have. Fairy lights, candles, and comfortable seating can also help make your wedding reception the ultimate winter gathering. A winter wedding may add another layer of difficulty for guests when choosing their outfit. However, there are numerous options that perfectly suit the ambiance that you’ve created for your wedding. Be sure to communicate with your guests about dress code as well as details about the venue, ceremony, and reception to minimize the chances of an ill-dressed guest. You can also provide blankets or hand warmers if a portion of the ceremony is outdoors. As a guest, jewel-tones and long sleeves are always sure to succeed at a winter wedding.
