Held at 73 York Street in picturesque Marylebone, Raishma hosted The Hemraj Goyal Foundation’s charity event for Barnardos. The event was an intimate gathering, providing an array of beverages and light canapes for all guests to raise awareness for the children’s charity. Raishma welcomed fellow guests to her store to showcase her recently launched AW17 collection, bestsellers and more, where guests browsed the range. In total, £1209.08 was donated from the proceeds made that day.
HGF X Barnardos - Barnardos is a charity dedicated to aid vulnerable children. They strive to “protect, welcome, support, nurture, counsel and empower” children. Through setting up projects around the UK, the charity aims to be accessible as possible to prevent issues such as abuse and exploitation and provide disability care, tools for support and guidance. As a result, The Hemraj Goyal Foundation believe that spreading the awareness of Barnardos is essential in supporting the ethos of their foundation by caring for the children of today. Fashion and the Charity - Bruce Oldfield, known for creating many of Princess Diana’s gowns, is a patron of the Barnardos charity. Oldfield was a Barnardos child. Throughout the making of his career, Oldfield believed Barnardos were “extremely instrumental” in achieving his success. Therefore, as vice president, Oldfield contributes to the funding of the charity and strives for awareness. Coincidently, Raishma interned for Oldfield just after graduating in 1996, which made this event even more worthwhile. The evening was thought provoking in learning about the hardships of struggling children. The opportunity to showcase their wonderful work and donating towards the charity, was a rewarding experience for the brand.
