Born and raised within the UK, Raishma always knew she would become a
fashion designer. Learning her craft from her mother, by the age of 8 she was
using her first sewing machine and hasn’t looked back since. After obtaining a
BA Hons degree in Fashion, Raishma went on to work under Elizabeth Emmanuel
where her love and passion for couture design grew. The Couture collection has
a global fan base which spans royalty, A Listers and Hollywood Actresses. This
has included Mel B, Little Mix and Princess Beatrice and Eugenie. Each year
Raishma shows at Couture Fashion Week in Paris, watch and explore all previous
catwalks here As both designer and Creative Director of her own business, Raishma is fiercely
connected to her products; from sketching each piece here in London, to
selecting every fabric through to approving product quality.

Passionate about making her clothing accessible to all women, Raishma established
her RTW collection 8 years ago. Just like the Couture line, the product focuses
on beautifully cut occasion pieces which embody femininity and glamour. The
brand’s style signifiers are demonstrated through the luxe fabrications,
flattering cuts and hand-sewn embroidery techniques.

Adapting to change during the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Raishma used her
expertise to notice a gap in the market for a high quality and an affordable
line of Printed Dresses. Raishma Studio was developed to house this collection of elegant, flattering and easy to wear pieces.

As a designer she is very at home with colour and pattern – injecting classic
shapes with playfulness and personality through beading and embellishments.
Raishma takes inspiration from history, art and nature with collections drawing
on a wide variety of starting points; from artists such as William Morris
and  Monet, to her travels from Ibiza to Marrakesh. Today the brand has a boutique store in Marylebone housing all of the Ready to Wear collection and one off pieces. In addition the brand  has a strong online presence  and is sold through a number of retail partners in the UK
and worldwide.

Ethical Trading

A business is only as successful as the people involved in it. With the quest to create a system that allows the supplier chain to flourish, Raishma works with independent makers, social enterprises and cooperatives to cultivate long-term and mutually prosperous relationships. The suppliers are an extension of a team and it is ensured that an ethical environment is created for them to flourish. Long lead times that lay no unrequited pressure on  production is at the core of the process. Raishma's fair and ethical trading practices has not only helped build the business but also nurtured sustainable employment.

Here at Raishma, we are passionate about safeguarding our planet so we are looking into more ways in which we can make our brand more sustainable. We do not believe in throwaway fashion, our Raishma gowns are designed with you in mind. We want generations of women to feel empowered and beautiful in their Raishma purchase, so your Raishma dress, top or gown is designed with the purpose to stay with you forever. The fabrics and techniques we use guarantee the longevity of your purchase, ensuring that it doesn't end up in a landfill, but instead being worn, loved and endlessly passed on.

We take pride in our collection and create timeless pieces we know you will keep forever. All our designs are seasonless classic styles that can we worn time and time again without going out of style.

By 2023 we will implement eco-friendly packaging. Each purchase will be individually packed in a unique Raishma bag that can be multi-functional after delivery. Our cardboard boxes will become 100% recyclable and we will encourage customers to take advantage of that.

Each Raishma garment is a uniquely handcrafted piece. The beauty of an artisanal skill merged with the designer's vision unfolds and unmatched creation. At Raishma, it is the handmade touch that adds character to every garment. Working with suppliers who use traditional skills handed down from one generation to the next is a concentrated effort to protect and revive these lost craft traditions.
