Last week Coutts, the private banking company, held a festive event for Diwali. In celebration of the event, Raishma exhibited with select pieces from her couture range. Reflecting the festival of lights, Raishma handpicked colourful and intricately beaded pieces that reflected the theme of ‘Colour in Couture.’ Raishma introduced her brand aesthetic with six gowns. Some which have featured with vogue online. Conservative and classy, Raishma added two muted peachy pinks to the selection with light net detailing at the decollate along with extravagant bodices and tulle propped skirts and silver finishing’s. Her deep peach cape dress, had a fully embellished high collar design with accents of ivory beading to compliment the bold colours and authentic thread work. The champagne gown is a popular eye-catching piece and was featured in the Marrakech Oriental fashion show. The thread work, button detailing, and flared skirt gives it a classic yet decadent aesthetic. Raishma also displayed two red gowns. One of which had a red sheer bodice with applique beaded overlay work and silk pleated skirt. The other took a contemporary look as a two-piece lengha style. With a silk ivory base, the dress had cascading 3D red rose beading along the bodice, full length sleeves and skirt. Guests were encouraged into the festive mood with authentic drinks and canapes, traditional henna designs, tarot reading, caricaturist art. The event was a great success and the Raishma collection proved to be the main focal point of the exhibition.
